Twin Atlantic's Lightspeed

(As published for Buzz)

GLASWEGIAN quartet Twin Atlantic are back with their new single Lightspeed and trust us – they do not disappoint.

Having been compared to Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro, the four-piece’s latest offering really stands out as a top single with potential to go far not just here, but overseas as well.

Opening with a riffy bassline and front man Sam McTrusty’s thick Glaswegian vocals, the guitar then takes on a Kings of Leon-esque epic echo effect.

The lyrics are a metaphorical celebration of the band’s friendship and the journey they’ve been on since the day they started playing together, and you really get a sense of the fun and laughter they’ve shared.

One small criticism is the fact that Lightspeed ends fairly abruptly – something which wouldn’t necessarily be an issue in a live setting, but is somewhat disappointing on your mp3 player or stereo.

It’s easy to imagine whole venues dancing to this song, and with Twin Atlantic now supporting Enter Shikari on their European tour, that dream could become a reality in the near future.

The single is due for release on 01 March.
