| AFI's latest single, Medicate | | AFI return to our sound systems with new single Medicate - taken from their latest album, Crash Love.
On first hearing the track, you might think you've heard it somewhere before - but the guitar soon riff grabs you in, drawing your attention to the track's very own personality.
As the drums and later the bassline kicks in Medicate creates an almost three-dimensional experience, as though the four-piece are performing an impromtu set in your front room.
Davey Havok's vocals are as individual as ever, adding to the feeling that the track creates of being a comfortably bold AFI sound.
Sadly the radio edit deprives us of nearly 40 seconds in comparison to the album length Medicate, but the good thing is we can all look forward to the extended version when AFI tour the UK with their latest material.
Medicate certainly joins the rank of Miss Murder as a top AFI release, and paves the way to an exciting and appealing new set of material by one of California's most promenent rock bands.
