| Bowling for Soup's latest album, Sorry for Not Partyin' | | It's been two years since the last Bowling For Soup studio album was released. The title of their latest offering offers an explanation as to where they have been hiding, but when you get a piece of this you'll find it hard not to forgive them for it.
Launching their eighth studio album with comic mickey-taking track A Really Cool Dance Song, the four-piece show they are still on top form. Demonstrating their inability to take themselves seriously, they describe their quest to keep making money to provide for their families and the best way to do so is attempt a dance song because 'dance songs are cool now'.
Slipping naturally into No Hablo Ingles, another lighthearted and amusing track, Jaret Reddick asks a series of questions to which the band reply 'No hablo ingles' until he asks 'Do you like my band?' before saying 'Wait - don't answer that'.
As most albums go, there will always be the odd one or two tracks that let the side down - for Bowling For Soup these are BFFF and Me Without You. It's not that they're particularly bad - they just lower the tone of what is otherwise a lively and upbeat album.
Overall, Bowling For Soup have delivered another blinder of an album, and after just one listen, you'll find it's you who'll have to say Sorry for Partyin'!
