All Is Fake

All is fake is a short, snappy, less than five minute piece of radio friendly rock from Norwegian four-piece Daisy Cutter.

Sadly, the band sound as though they have serious technical ability, but their songs end up sounding so much like Nickelback it's unreal, and one Nickelback is more than enough for any world. This is a further shame as the instrumental after the fake ending is a moment of pure genius with a generic song, like the funny joke in a box of Tesco value Christmas Crackers.

Fast Forward

The best description of this song would probably be "Undecided," although "Inconsistant" would work just as well. Softer than other songs they've made available, Fast Forward is a mix of a ballad, middle of the road rock anthem, and doom metal. A mixture which had only two possible outcomes: pure brilliance, or the stodgy remains of poorly contructed Sherry Trifle. Sadly, we're given aural cake leftovers.

However, having said this, there is a great sing-along moment at the end, but even this sounds like a few lads on their way to a football match. Fast Forward? You'll certainly want to! (Ironic laughter)

Secure Settings

One of the lyrics of Secure Settings is: "Things are not easily forgotten." Luckily, this song is. An uninspired riff behind uninspired lyrics, generic has never been a more appropriate word. The song is officially "Not bad", but neither is it "Good."

It will never set the musical world on fire, but for anybody who enjoys soundtrack to poignant scenes in poor vampire movies, it's probably worth a listen.
