| Norweigian four-piece Daisy Cutter | | Norwegian
band Daisy Cutter have been described as being "like a strong drug
injected deep in your veins...it takes you away before fatally kicking
the hell out out you." [sic] A more accurate description would have
been "like a packet of Milky Way Magic Stars, they won't fill you up
before dinner".
Demo track Queen Bitch starts well. The riff is
strong to begin with, and the vocals are pleasant. But that riff keeps
on going almost constantly throughout the song, weakening the
effectiveness. An analogy would be that of a man who has a very good
joke regarding pandas, but tells it constantly, over and over, pausing
for breath occasionally before telling it again.
The sad thing
is, the song never actually goes anywhere. There is a bridge, but that
has the unfortunate characteristic of sounding like Chad Kroeger
chanting the contents of a 14-year-old's diary.
Lacking in
originality, but technically proficient, there's nothing to actively
dislike about Queen Bitch. It exists, and will probably be used some
day in the soundtrack to a Mission Impossible film.
