Offended? iBar wasn't
22/03/08 - iBar, Bournemouth
Support: Cut Off Your Hands, George Pringle

Electro-indie outfit Does It Offend You, Yeah?

FOLLOWING a change of venue from Mr C's in Poole - and the diva antics of the uninspiring, monotonous support act George Pringle - I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

However, the combination of the digital attributes of the iBar and the fresh enthusiasm of Does It Offend You, Yeah? made for an impressive performance.

With a capacity of just 100 on each floor, the iBar catered for high demands for tickets by transmitting a live broadcast of the act to the upstairs bar, allowing some members of the crowd to watch the gig in comfort.

Though the quality of the transmission was not perfect and the sound system struggled to cope at times, the innovative concept showed huge potential for future performances.

Does It Offend You, Yeah? played an electro-indie set comparable to Daft Punk, featuring heavy use of a vocoder and demonstrating the confidence they gained from their recent stint of the 2008 NME Awards Tour.

Tracks included Let's Make Out, Doomed Now, Battle Royale, and ended with We Are Rockstars.

Does It Offend You, Yeah?'s debut album You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into was released on Monday on Virgin Records.
