Electro five-piece Hadouken!
(As published for Bournemouth Daily Echo)

NEON clothing? Check. Luminous face paints? Check. I had the bare minimum needed to get me accepted by Hadouken!'s crowd.

The Leed's five-piece played to an audience with a penchant for neon as part of a tour promoting their debut album, Music For An Accelerated Culture.

Their music is said to fall under the Asbo-disco genre, and is heavily influenced by dance artists the Prodify - an influence demonstrated in their cover of Breathe during the encore.

Vocalist James Smith proved to be an interesting frontman, what with ripping open an inflatable hammer with his teeth, and guitarist Daniel "Pilau" Rice managed to chip his tooth on his microphone.

Although only previously aware of popular MySpace track Get Smashed Gate Crash, and their single Liquid Lives, I found their approach captivating to watch.
