| Norway's Ida Maria | | (As published for NERVE* Magazine)
NORWEGIAN songstress Ida Maria releases yet another belter.
Due for release on March 10, Stella follows Ida Maria’s previous hits Oh My God and I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked.
Gobby,
confident and controversial like a Nordic Lily Allen, Ida uses her
alternative-rock approach to tell the story of God giving up the world
to a 43-year-old prostitute from Manhattan named Stella, in return for
a night with her.
Even though Stella isn’t as up-tempo as Oh My God, this track does stand out against other new releases.
Supported
by rocky Strokes-esque riffs from her guitarist Stefan Tömby, Ida and
her band put the little Norwegian town of Nesna on the map and score a
spectacular home run with this track.
