Far from idle
Artist: Kinny
Title: Idle Forest Of Chit Chat
Label:
Kinny goes solo
IDLE Forest Of Chit Chat is the debut album from upcoming Canadian singer Caitlin Simpson, aka Kinny.
Due for release in January 2009, Kinny offers a range of soul infused tracks, with collaborations from the likes of The Quantic Soul Orchestra, Nostalgia 77 and Hint.
The album was constructed by seven different producers, resulting in an array of tracks with their own personalities, yet they still flow together fluidly.
Once a classically trained opera singer, Kinny uses her powerful voice to its full potential with exceptional results. Her style could be compared to that of Anastacia or Natasha Bedingfield, and would sit nicely in many a setting – from clubs to festivals, dinner parties to driving tunes.
Tracks that particularly stand out are Afro Love Forest, with its jungle beats and catchy lyrics, the jazzy Back Street Lust and the chilled album title track, Idle Forest Of Chit Chat.
For me though, the two songs that are way ahead of the rest are 2546 Nice! and Queen Of Boredness – demonstrating the power and attitude to Kinny’s vocals alongside top quality rhythmical backing tracks.
Established fans of Kinny may recognise Forgetting To Remember from the album of the same name by Kinny and Horne.
The first single from the album, is double A-side Enough Said feat. The Quantic Soul Orchestra/Desire feat. Nostalgia 77 - out on 8 December.
