Yoko Ono sues Devil's Gift singer

DEVIL'S Gift singer, Lennon Murphy, is in the middle of a legal battle to defend her right to use her name for public performances, after Yoko Ono has filed a legal suit.

Originally giving her blessing for the singer/songwriter to use her name in a professional capacity 8 years ago, Ono now claims Lennon’s use of her own name is intentionally exploiting his name to confuse people and increase the profile of her band.

Murphy said,

“Lennon is my first name by birth and I am regularly asked if I was named after the Beatle, having always replied no. My mother named me after "John Lennon that wrote songs, painted, and baked bread with his son". She named me for the man, not the pop star.”

We await the verdict with anticipation.

Amon Amarth added to Unholy Alliance III package

SWEDISH Viking-Metal band Amon Amarth are the latest editions to the bill for the Unholy Alliance Tour Chapter III. The Metal Hammer sponsored event already boasts an impressive line up of bands, including Slayer, Trivium and Mastodon. The addition of Amon Amarth adds weight to the claim that the UAIII could prove to be “the heaviest, darkest tour of the year”.

Amon Amarth frontman Johan Hegg said,

"All of us have been huge fans of Slayer since the mid 80’s, and to be able
to tour with this legendary thrash band is a dream come true. We are very
proud and honored to be a part of this year’s Unholy Alliance.

"Slayer fans are die-hard and tough as true Vikings and it will be a great experience to be able to play in
front of them."

Valient kidney donation is a great success

VALIENT Himself successfully donated one of his kidneys to his father on May 14th. Now back home recovering, the operation was a great success, with both father and son doing well.

Valient’s decision to take the private family event to the press stems from the National Kidney Foundation’s public outreach. Valient Thorr see this as a chance to illuminate a critically important issue that people don't think about unless personally touched by it.

Valient stated,

“If I can go from a hospital bed to playing in front of a crowd of 75,000 at the UK’s Download Festival in just four weeks, people out there might consider becoming organ donors as well. It's definitely something to think about.”

More information on kidney donations can be found at kidney.org or livingdonors.org.
