CHART-TOPPING
three-piece The Hoosiers arrived on stage through a Narnia-esque
wardrobe, transporting the audience into 'their living room' and
opening with album track Killer.
Never before had I dressed as a
Power Ranger to attend a gig with Where's Wally, Pac-Man, and The
Smurfs - but the call for fancy dress was warmly embraced.
Frontman
Irwin Sparkes informed his sold-out audience that they were the largest
crowd The Hoosiers had played to and thanked their long-term fans who
saw them support local band Air Traffic at The Opera House last year.
He also referred to their NME award for Worst Band and went on to show
the people who voted for them had clearly never seen them live before
by launching into the high notes of captivating new track Swear It On
Your Life.
Worst Case Scenario, Run Rabbit Run, album title
track The Trick To Life, Goodbye Mr A and crowd-pleaser Cops And
Robbers followed before they returned to the stage for their encore of
Money To Be Made, Billy Joel's We Didn't Start The Fire and Worried
About Ray.
