BOURNEMOUTH rockers Voodoo Vegas have
finished their first live album, with astonishing results.
Recorded live at Poole’s Mr Kyps, the album
opens with the ever popular Mary Jane, featuring the gravely hard rock vocals
of Lawrence Case and beats from Chris Macknochie.
Merylina Hamilton makes the most of her guitar
effects during Out There, using them to their full potential and achieving a
wholesome sound, accompanied by Ash Moulton’s rhythmic bass.
Perfect Girl slows the album right down,
allowing Nick Brown to showcase his acoustic skills and Case’s vocals to be
heard more easily than in some of the heavier tracks.
Contributions from Bournemouth’s Si Genaro enhance
The Ferry Song and The Ballad, as he shows that the harmonica can add something
to more than just blues music.
Mixed by our very own Adam Scholey,
VV have ended up with a fantastic quality album, produced to professional standard.
Though there may be the odd bum note, this only adds to the effect of the live
album, enhancing the high standard throughout the rest of the performances.
LIVE comes highly recommended to all rock
fans, particularly those who want to support a local band from the ground up.
Listening to this live collection is a must.
